When Blood Burns emerged out of the ashes of Vidism and Mushpeet, two Brussel based bands, at the end of the summer of 2006. The original line-up featured Brian (ex-Vidism, ex-Hollow – Guitar), Ben (ex-Mushpeet, Guitar), Fabeee (ex-Vidism, ex-One Day Later – Bass), John (ex-Mushpeet –Drums) and Nicosh (ex-Vidism, Vocals). The musical direction of When Blood Burns was easily established with influences coming fro the German & American metalcore scene, spiced up with some thrash and death metal influences. Finding the right vocal combination proved to be a harder task. For personal reasons, Nicosh did not continue any further in the project. Fabeee gave up the bass to take over the mic and Gaëtan (ex-Vidism) joined the band around November 2006 to add his typical deathmetal growls and piggy screams. With Fabeee and Gaët’ joining their forces, the band found a nice mix of hardcore and death metal voices. In December 2006, Arnaud (ex-Dark sensation, Bloody Hands) joined the band as bass player; completing the bands line up. When Blood Burns played it’s first show in April 2007, During its first year of existence, WHEN BLOOD BURNS has played more than 30 concerts everywhere in Belgium, and shared the stage with bands like : The Black Dahlia Murder ( USA ), Sonic Syndicate (SWE), Hacride (FR), Switchback (CH), Length of Time (BE), Arkangel (BE), Sylosis ( UK ), Viatrophy ( UK ), A Traitor Like Judas (GER), Abel is dying (IT), Shadow Law (UK), No End in Sight (GER), Crimson Falls (BE), Spoil Engine (BE), Emeth (BE) and many more...
