As We Bleed was first founded in 1999 by Julien ( guitar ), Alex ( drums ), Alan ( vocals ) and Matthew ( bass ). Each artist had already played in several bands before so they had the opportunity to experience french hardcore metal scene. Based in Normandy, France, AWB quickly built their own death-metal and hardcore mix and began touring in the surrounding areas.

In january 2001, the band recorded its first 4-tracks mcd and toured once again with bands such as Aclys, Burn Hollywood Burn, No Return, Enhancer, etc. In september of that year, Matthew left the group and was substituted by Quentin formerly of Burn Hollywood Burn. This line up change happened a few weeks before the mcd was released in D.I.Y.

2002 : Mathieu ( No Junk Food ) joined the band as a second singer. The band evolved toward a more chaotic hardcore, torture and destruction. As number of shows increased, AWB played out of his area with Drowning, Gronibard, Keelhaul, Miss Mofet, Rentokiller, Inside Conflict, Comity .. At the end of the year, Quentin left the band due to BHB activities and Pierre ( No Junk Food ) took his place.

The new band began to write and tour again. The style matured between violence, technical degree, darkness and intensity. Their energy and anger on stage make them one of the must-see band in France. In the same year AWB appeared on several comps.

2004 : As We Bleed releases 2 split-cds with General Lee and Last Day Of Icarus. This 2 eps received many favorable reviews and sold more than 1000 copies. AWB still toured and get on stage with bands such as Dillinger Escape Plan, Knucledust, Akimbo, The Assaillants and in some big fests with Sonic Youth, Blonde Redhead ... They also appeared on the Listenable records comp "Revolution Calling" wich aim to represent the french HxC-metal scene to foreign countries.

From september 2005 to january 2006 the band composed their first full lenght and records 11 tracks with Clement decrock ( Lysanxia, General Lee ) during 3 weeks in february 2006. All the as We Bleed personnalities are individually voiced for the first time : chaotic rythms meets crushing mosh parts and lightning blast beats kiss the most darkened screams.

With the efforts of 2 D.I.Y labels, Marvel Music Motion and Emergence records, "Harsh Means Of Answer Against Compromise" was released in january 2007. The album immediately reveived very positive reviews and the band was said many times as one of the most promising french and european band or simply one of the best fench band ( see reviews ). AWB appeared in the french metal national magazine Hard n'Heavy for the second time and then signed for national distribution in stores with the famous label "season Of Mist". The band realized a serie of chaotic and crazy shows with The Gay Corporation as to promote the record and is now searching for more dates all over europe while 5 new songs are already written for the new record that promise to sound like apocalypse!

As We Bled is now seriously searching for a real label-partner that could help us for the recording and release of the new record and put the band one step higher in his evolution and career. The 3 new songs "The Die-Hard Manifest", "The Slow Motion Neurotic Apocalypse" and "Doomriders In The Temple Of Fake" were recorded, mixed and mastered at Boss Hog Studio by Clement Decrock in january 2008.
