| Tardive Dyskinesia come straight from the Hellenic, after releasing many of demos under the moniker of Override, Manthos Stergiou and his band changed their name of the band and their main target at the same time.
Indeed, they push the boundaries of their structures and they professionalized. Although their first album Distorting Point Of View almost escapes notice, their latest creation, with the tongue-twister name The Sea Of See Through Skins, takes a much better way. Indeed, they enjoy the services of a new label which is simply the prolific Coroner Records, the mixing and mastering was made at Split Second Sound Studio by Jacob Jochem (Textures, In-Quest...), in short, the Greek Tardive Dyskinesia have shift gears.
As its description suggests, Tardive Dyskinesia (illness caused by long-term use of psychotropic medication which causes involuntary repetitive movements of the limbs), practices a syncopated style, with technical deconstructs and a hectic and spasmodic tempo, thereby creating a convoluted structure, if you know what I mean. References to the cult Meshuggah are undeniable, but they are not unique, we can certainly add Strapping Young Lad, Textures or Gojira. When we think to math metal, we think immediately to polyrhythmic Meshuggah effect and therefore it’s hard-working to move away, however, such as In-Quest or ????, Tardive Dyskinesia combines other melodic elements or else some hardcore stuff to provide math metal smoother sauce Greek. The excellent song Ask E Sea reminds me the first albums of Gojira; simply powerful and majestic.
Without being the best album of the year or month, The Sea Of See Through Skins is nevertheless a nice album full of subtleties. This album is not only for fans of Meshuggah, lovers of musical curiosity will also find their pleasure.
