Additional Notes

Fishbrain
Fomento is a young Transalpine who made his first steps in 2005 (historical anecdote: their first concert was on 06/06/06). Their musical foundation is located in the thrash metal and hardcore, Influence from groups such as Slayer, Lamb Of God, Hatebreed and Chimaira are still undeniable. The first full album of the group, Either Caesar or Nothing, has initially been self-funded before being released by their first label, Coroner Records, with a new cover, a much better production and mastering more carefully. The album also contains two additional tracks (Cotard's syndrome, Burial At Sea) and an introduction (HD80606B).

Above all, in view of the cover and title of the album, I frankly expected an album in the vein of Romulus (Ex Deo) recounting epic themes of ancient Rome. I expected too that they know vey well about this view because it’s their cultural heritage. But finality Either Caesar or Nothing is "just" an album of angry youths who had the rage and hatred (particularly against the Emo kids : Kill FashionCore). The album starts well enough with song The Dies Is Cast but become much less interesting thereafter. We are entitled to the great classics of the genre, that is to say, heavy riffs, down tempo, breaks, blasting drums, hardcore chorus and vocals, some linearity in the structures, passages who said : "Hey, we will put a big mosh here "... disappointment is not very far. We nevertheless find interesting songs at the end (Cotard's Syndrome, The Egyptian March, Burial At Sea).

As described below, the most interesting tracks are mainly those of the re-edited version (such as Burial At Sea) which are certainly the most recently composed. The work on those songs is more refined and less messy. This proves that the Italian band Fomento recently improved their creativity and beginning to find their way. Keep an eye then.
