| We might almost believe that band Adimiron was definitely dead, nothing of the kind! Like a phoenix, he rises from the ashes and offers us a second album: When reality wakes up. The release of this second opus was not made without any difficulty, in fact, the group has undergone a massive line-up change (3 founding members left the group) but has also lost its former label Karmageddon Media Fortunately they found the support of Alkemist Fanatix for promotion.
Fans of the first steps, of the period of Burning Souls, may be quite unsettled as the style has changed considerably. Indeed, the Italian group has decided to set aside the mixing of melodic death metal with black metal vocals for melodic death metal with thrash / groove / power metal vocals. In other words, we keep the melodies such as Slowmotion Apocalypse or Machinemade God, remove the vocals between Trimonium and Compos Mentis for something closer to Godsmack, Machine Head, Dagoba or else Nevermore and here we are! To be honest, I much preferred the blackish vocals from the early hours of this one today. Not that the vocals are second-rate, but I think it’s not incorporated correctly with other instruments except perhaps on song Choice For A Mask because it’s less marked. This style of singing away the final outcome and alters the style even melodies don’t have fundamentally changed. It's a shame, if we evaluate the performance style separately, they are equal absolutely. To listen anyway: Choice For A Mask, Spitfire (audacious cover of The Prodigy), When Reality Wakes Up and Spring Of Consciousness.
After so many problems since 1998, we can certainly conceive that Adimiron could not provide more than two studio albums and also that their style is not quite stable. We wish them better luck for the future and also a totally harmonious future album.
